Dear Professional Landlord,

If you're not happy with the price I estimated for your landlord's gas safety and miscellaneous repairs you asked me to do because you evidently fucked them up trying to do them yourself you are perfectly at liberty to find someone else to do them at a price you're happy with.

You are not doing me a favour by offering to let me do work for you at a lower price than I would get elsewhere, and I am not obliged to do it at a lower price to keep you happy.

It's not that I don't ever do work cheaply: I am currently putting in central heating for a very nice woman in her early 90s and let's just say I'm not going to get a Carribean holiday out of what I'm charging her. But my charitability towards slummy landlords is rather more limited.
